I once bought a cheap chinese multitool, and showed it to a friend that always carries a leatherman on his belt. He looked at it, examined it, and said to me: "if it saves you once, it was a good purchase."
And, if you don't like a tool or don't know how to use it or don't have a use for it, those are not reasons to say it is bad. Case in point: the pruning shears. I have a pair that belonged to my father. He used them all the time. Since he became ill and ultimately died, naturally i took over some of the tasks around the house. Those pruning shears? Use them all the time, they are an awsome tool, practical, no electricity or gas needed, and they work for what they were meant to do and if you know how to use them.
And how many times we guys that carry a knife in our pockets have used it as a screwdriver? Is a knife made for that? No! Can it many times save your situation? Yes! In conclusion: there is no such thing as a bad tool.
